    Police in Nakuru Seek Preacher Who Stabbed Wife as Church Disowns Him

    Police in Nakuru are hunting for Pastor Elias Njau of the Jesus Crusaders Ministry (JCM) Church, accused of stabbing his lover, Florence Wanjiku, at their home in Kiamunyi, Rongai Sub-County, on Thursday night.

    Njau reportedly fled the scene, leaving Wanjiku critically injured. Neighbors rushed to intervene, rescuing her two children, aged two and ten, who were reportedly also in danger.

    Mr Elias Njau a pastor and a domestic violence suspect is said to be on the run after reportdly violently attacking her wife who is currently fighting for her life.

    Wanjiku, a co-investor with Njau in real estate, is currently hospitalized under tight security as her family fears further harm. Police have recorded her statement, and investigations are ongoing.

    The victim only identified as Wanjiku is currently admitted in hosipital as police continue to hunt the suspect who is on the run.

    The attack came just hours after President William Ruto condemned the rising cases of gender-based violence (GBV) and femicide in the country.

    Mr Njau is said to be a Minster at JCM Church which has issued issued a statement disowning him

    Nakuru County Chief Officer for Gender, Gladys Kamuren, called for calm and patience as authorities pursue the suspect. She emphasized the need for peaceful conflict resolution, saying, “Now we have a woman fighting for her life and a fugitive on the run.”

    Ms Wanjiku and Mr Njau are said to be business partners also.

    In a statement, senior officials from the Jesus Crusaders Ministry distanced the church from the incident, reaffirming their commitment to family values. They clarified that the actions of individual members do not reflect the church’s mission and called for justice to prevail.

    The incident has sparked outrage on social media, trending on platforms like Facebook and X, with users demanding justice for Wanjiku.
