Outrage has erupted after disturbing video footage allegedly showing teachers assaulting a woman inside a school staffroom in Trans Nzoia County went viral, with Kenyans demanding swift action against those involved.

The incident reportedly occurred at Forest Primary School in Kiminini Constituency, where Dona Makena had allegedly visited the institution to seek clarification over lunch fees charged for her younger brother.

What began as a dispute over school charges allegedly escalated into a violent confrontation, with footage appearing to show several men physically attacking the woman inside the staffroom.

In one of the videos circulating online, multiple men are seen grabbing, shoving and wrestling with Makena near a staff desk as she struggles to break free.

The situation reportedly worsened when Makena’s father attempted to intervene, leading to another heated physical confrontation inside the room.

Woman Seen Crying With Hands Bound

A second video has sparked further outrage, showing Makena kneeling on the staffroom floor, visibly distressed, with her wrists apparently tied together using a black cloth.

She is seen raising her bound hands and crying out in pain as other individuals remain seated at their desks.

In the footage, Makena appears to plead with her father to look at her injuries, claiming she is bleeding after being kicked.

“Dad, see what they’ve done to me. They have just kicked me. I’m bleeding,” she cries, according to the report.

The disturbing scenes have triggered widespread condemnation, with social media users questioning why a dispute over school fees allegedly escalated into violence.

    Kenyans Demand Action

The footage has prompted calls for the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), the Ministry of Education and the National Police Service to investigate the incident and take appropriate action against anyone found culpable.

Several online commentators have argued that parents and guardians should be able to question school charges without fear of intimidation or physical harm.

Others have demanded that authorities establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault, including the roles played by the individuals captured in the videos.

The incident has also reignited debate over school levies and the transparency of charges imposed on parents and guardians.

Questions remain over the nature of the disputed lunch fees, whether the charges were properly authorised and how the confrontation was allowed to escalate.

    School Yet to Respond

The Forest Primary School board had not issued a public statement addressing the allegations at the time of the report.

Authorities will need to establish what transpired at the institution and determine whether any criminal or professional misconduct occurred.

As public pressure mounts, Kenyans are demanding answers and accountability over the disturbing footage.

The incident has once again raised concerns about the handling of disputes in learning institutions and the need for school administrators to resolve disagreements through lawful and appropriate channels.
