The National Assembly has officially approved the appointment of new leadership to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), marking a crucial step in preparing the electoral body for future elections.

Erastus Edung Ethekon has been confirmed as the Chairperson of the IEBC, taking the helm of the commission charged with overseeing Kenya’s electoral integrity. Alongside him, six members were also approved, including Ann Njeri Nderitu, Moses Alutalala Mukhwana, Mary Karen Sorobit, Hassan Noor Hassan, Francis Odhiambo Aduol, and Fahima Araphat Abdallah.

This newly constituted commission brings together a team with diverse expertise expected to strengthen the IEBC’s capacity in managing transparent and credible elections. The appointments come at a time when Kenyans are increasingly focused on ensuring electoral processes are free, fair, and efficient.
