Gachagua Declares GEMA Will End Ruto’s Presidency in 2027: “GEMA Ndio Dawa Yake!”

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has launched a bold political attack against President William Ruto, claiming that the Agikuyu, Aembu, Ameru, and Akamba (GEMA) communities have the numbers and political will to remove him from power in 2027—whether or not they receive support from opposition leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking during a church service in Machakos County today, Gachagua confidently declared that the GEMA bloc is the ultimate force in Kenyan politics, capable of dictating the country’s leadership.

“GEMA ndio dawa yake,” he declared to an enthusiastic congregation, insisting that the Mt. Kenya and Lower Eastern regions hold the key to the next government.

    GEMA vs. Kalenjin Numbers

In a daring comparison, Gachagua dismissed Ruto’s political strength, claiming that the Kalenjin community’s voting numbers are no match for GEMA’s dominance.

“GEMA has 10 million votes strong. Kalenjin Nation has 1.9 million na bado wanasema rolrolrol. How many votes will they manufacture?” he posed.

His remarks appeared to suggest that Ruto’s re-election bid in 2027 would struggle without the support of Mt. Kenya, further fueling speculation about growing rifts between the President and his former deputy.

“Ruto is on Political Life Support”

Gachagua did not stop there. He went on to mock Ruto’s current political standing, alleging that the Head of State’s survival now hinges on opposition leader Raila Odinga.

“Live support machine yake saa hii ni Raila. Akizima, ameisha,” he said, implying that Ruto’s administration is weak and entirely dependent on Raila’s political maneuvers.

Gachagua’s remarks come at a time when Raila is expected to announce his next political move this coming week, a decision that could significantly impact the 2027 race. With tensions within Kenya Kwanza rising and fresh alliances forming, the battle for Mt. Kenya’s loyalty is heating up.

The former DP’s fiery statements now set the stage for a high-stakes political showdown as the country inches closer to the next election. Will GEMA rally behind him, or will Ruto manage to regain control of the crucial voting bloc? Time will tell.
