Police in Mwingi have sealed off an area near Delta Petrol Station in Tyaa after reports emerged that several bodies had been discovered at the site.

Officers from Mwingi Police Station were on Monday morning combing the area as curious residents gathered near the scene, seeking answers over the disturbing discovery.

Authorities had not immediately confirmed the number of bodies recovered or the circumstances under which they were found, with investigations still in the early stages.

Witnesses told Channel 15 News that security officers moved swiftly to cordon off the area as detectives began examining the scene.

The latest incident comes barely a month after two bodies were discovered under mysterious circumstances in Tyaa, raising fresh concerns among residents over a possible pattern of unexplained deaths in the area.

Police have urged members of the public to remain calm and allow investigators to complete their work before drawing conclusions.

More details are expected as forensic teams and detectives continue processing the scene.
