    Kitui Priest Who Died In Malawi Road Accident, Laid To Rest In Nakuru .

    A Roman Catholic Priest from Kitui County who died two weeks ago following a road accident in Malawi’s Lilongwe Capital has been laid to rest today.

    The late Rev. Fr. Martin Kavisu of St. Patrick’s Missionary Society has been laid to rest today at the congregation’s cemetery in Kiamunyi, Nakuru Diocese.

    The body of the deceased priest was received and blessed by His Lordship Cleophas Oseso of the Nakuru Diocese at St. Augustine Kiamunyi in a solemn mass led by Bishop Joseph Mwongela of Catholic Diocese of Kitui, the mother diocese of the late priest and was joined by His Lordship Henry Juma of Kitale and Emeritus Bishop Maurice Crowley.

    Tens of priests from the Catholic Diocese of Kitui, Catholic Diocese of Nakuru, Lilongwe Parish in Malawi, and various parts of the world attended the mass.

    Fr. Martin, who passed away on December 14, 2023, in a tragic road accident at Kampata area in Lilongwe, was remembered as a true missionary, living a simple and inspirational life.

    Until his demise, Fr. Kavisu was the Parish Priest of St. Kizito-Chigoneka in Area 47, Lilongwe. Additionally, he held the roles of Vocations Director for the Missionaries of St. Patrick’s Malawi & Zambia and congregation’s bursar in Malawi. In July this year, he was appointed the master of ceremonies for Maula Deanery.

    The late Fr Martin Kivisu was from St. Paul’s Kasyala Parish, Catholic Diocese of Kitui and he was ordained on 28th May 2016 by His Grace Antony Muheria at St. John Paul II Institute grounds together with Rev. Frs Francis Mutua and Joseph Kivite.
