Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has threatened to lead street protests if the Treasury proceeds with its newly proposed tax amendments, claiming that the current tax regime is already oppressively burdensome. Musyoka, who spoke passionately at a Gospel Kigoco Concert in Kimorori, Kenol, Murang’a County, highlighted the growing financial strain facing Kenyans.

The event was organized by gospel artist Ngaruiya Junior, known as “The King of Kigooco,” and attended by a supportive crowd under the banner of “The People’s Loyal.”
“Imposing more taxes on Kenyans who are barely making ends meet is inhumane. The government needs to focus on economic relief rather than pushing the public to its breaking point,” Kalonzo said during his address.

The event provided a charged atmosphere, with attendees cheering in agreement as Kalonzo condemned the amendments as “punitive” and vowed to stand up for ordinary Kenyans.

Kalonzo’s remarks come amid widespread public discontent with high living costs and escalating prices on essential goods, fuel, and services. As opposition to the proposed amendments grows, the Wiper leader’s call for possible street protests is likely to draw even more attention to this contentious issue.
