Mwingi North parliamentary aspirant Michael Kavate Kanyanya on Wednesday joined Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka, family members and political leaders at the burial of Kalonzo’s cousin, Esther Nzasu Muisyo, in Kitui County.
The funeral drew hundreds of mourners, including leaders from across the Lower Eastern region, who gathered to pay their last respects to the late Esther.
In his tribute, Kalonzo described the deceased as more than a cousin, saying she played a key role in his upbringing and remained a dependable source of strength and support to the family.
“Esther was more than a cousin to me. She was steady and kind, someone who helped raise me. She was the kind of person a family leans on without ever having to ask,” Kalonzo said.
He said Esther exemplified strength and dignity throughout her life, quoting Proverbs 31:25 as a reflection of her character and resilience.
Among the leaders who attended the burial were Kiio Wambua, Irene Kasalu, Paul Nzengu and Kanyanya, who joined mourners in condoling with the bereaved family.
The ceremony concluded with tributes celebrating Esther’s life and her contribution to the family and community as mourners urged one another to uphold the values of unity and compassion that defined her life.
