The gospel industry has been jolted after Tiras Muange, husband to renowned Kamba gospel artist Phyllis Mutisya, announced that he has separated from his wife. In a lengthy and emotionally charged post that he dramatically titled “The Last Testament”, Muange opened up about the collapse of their 12-year marriage, making explosive allegations of infidelity, betrayal, and broken vows.

Muange began by recounting their journey—“through thick and thin, bad and good, lowest and highest moments”—saying the fruits of their union included children, ministry, and friendships. But he quickly shifted to the heartbreak, accusing Mutisya of repeatedly breaking their vows.

“The worst feeling for a man is when he tries to have a conversation with a woman about her behavior that hurts him, but instead of listening, she gets angry and turns the situation around on him,” he lamented.

The most shocking part of his post was a list of more than 20 men whom he alleged have been romantically involved with his wife over the last eight years. According to Muange, the affairs took place in hotel rooms, Airbnbs, and road trips. Among the names he cited are Masila, Kyalo, Nzau, Benito, Major Jackson, Polycarp, Sila, Captain Dan, Nzyanzwii, Tash, Zabuh, and others.

“These ties are broken for reasons best known to you,” he wrote bitterly, adding that the repeated infidelities had left him crushed and unable to heal. He accused Mutisya of temperamental outbursts, insults, and disrespect, saying they had stripped him of his peace and dignity.
His post ended with a dramatic parting shot:

“YOU ARE NOW A FREE BIRD. Go have sex without perching. I NEED PEACE AND THE ROOM TO FIND MY GROUND IN ALL THIS.”

The revelation has triggered shockwaves across the gospel community, with fans of Mutisya expressing disbelief, while others questioned why such personal matters were aired publicly. As of press time, Phyllis Mutisya had not issued a response to the explosive claims.
The scandal has now placed one of Kamba gospel music’s respected couples under the harsh glare of public scrutiny, with many watching closely to see how the singer will address the allegations.
