Panic and fear are spreading across Kitui town after a second woman was found brutally murdered in Kalundu area, just days after a similar killing shocked residents in Slaughter Estate.
The victim, estimated to be between 25 and 30 years old, was discovered with multiple deep stab wounds, her body lying in a pool of blood in what investigators are now treating as a highly suspicious and violent attack.
In a chilling detail, her mobile phone was found placed next to the body—an unusual occurrence that has raised fresh questions about the circumstances surrounding her death.
Detectives close to the investigation have admitted growing concern over the similarities between the two killings.
“The pattern we are seeing is disturbing. We are not dealing with what appears to be a normal incident,” a senior police officer told Channel 15 News on condition of anonymity.
While police have not officially confirmed a link, sources indicate that investigators are actively exploring the possibility that the murders could be connected, with some not ruling out the likelihood of a calculated or ritualistic element behind the attacks.
The killing comes less than two weeks after the body of a 38-year-old woman was found dumped behind rental houses in Slaughter Estate under mysterious circumstances—an incident that remains unresolved.

“This is no longer random. There is a pattern, and people are scared,” said a Kalundu resident.
