Kitui Woman Representative aspirant Faith Kithele on Sunday continued her grassroots engagements after joining faithful for a church service at AIC Mbitini in Mbitini Ward, Kitui Rural Constituency, where she appealed for unity, prayers and support as she seeks to become the county’s next Woman Representative in the 2027 General Election.
The aspiring legislator, who recently declared her bid for the seat currently held by Irene Kasalu, urged residents to embrace servant leadership anchored on integrity, inclusivity and people-centred development. She said her leadership agenda would prioritize empowering women, creating opportunities for young people and strengthening support for vulnerable families across Kitui County.
Faith Kithele also lauded the church for its role in promoting peace, moral values and social cohesion, saying faith-based institutions remain critical partners in transforming communities and fostering responsible leadership.
Her visit to Mbitini comes as she intensifies consultations across Kitui County following the launch of her 2027 campaign, positioning herself as one of the key contenders expected to battle for the Woman Representative seat, which is likely to be left vacant if incumbent Irene Kasalu proceeds with her anticipated gubernatorial bid.
With incumbent Irene Kasalu widely expected to leave the Kitui Woman Representative seat to pursue the governorship in 2027, the race to succeed her is gathering momentum. Those who have publicly expressed interest include Faith Kithele, the renowned gospel musician and KAMP Chairperson; Fridah Makasi, who has been actively engaging grassroots supporters across the county; and Redemptor Matiti, the Kitui County Director for Special Programmes. Political analysts expect more aspirants, particularly from the Wiper Patriotic Front and other parties, to declare their bids in the coming months, setting the stage for what is shaping up to be a highly competitive contest ahead of the 2027 General Election.
