Comedian and media personality Sammy Kioko has been transferred from Kangundo Level 4 Hospital to Nairobi West Hospital following injuries sustained during a protest in Machakos County.
Earlier today, Kioko and fellow entertainer Tom Daktari staged a peaceful demonstration outside the Machakos County Finance Offices, demanding payment of KSh 19 million allegedly owed to them for previous services rendered.
Eyewitnesses reported that plain‑clothes officers intervened, and during the scuffle, Kioko was wrestled to the ground and injured.
He was immediately taken to Kangundo Level 4 Hospital, where medical personnel assessed his condition.

Concerned that his injuries required more specialized attention, doctors arranged a transfer to Nairobi West Hospital, where he is now under close observation and receiving advanced medical care.
Fans, colleagues, and members of the entertainment community have expressed concern on social media, sending messages of support and prayers for his quick recovery.
The incident has reignited debates over delayed government payments and the rights of artists to peacefully protest.

Representatives for Kioko’s family thanked well-wishers and urged the public to remain calm while he continues treatment.
We wish Sammy Kioko a fast and full recovery.
