The controversy surrounding Ndeke Ya Muthanga’s explicit songs has escalated further after FOG Studios producer Muti Mutulu, who is also a gospel minister, defended himself against public backlash. Following the uproar sparked by MCSK CEO Ezekiel Mutua’s strong condemnation, Mutulu has dismissed critics, stating that a producer’s role is not to control an artist’s message.

In his statement, Mutulu made it clear that his responsibility is limited to recording and getting paid, not policing an artist’s content.

“A producer’s job is to advise those who seek advice, record the song, and get paid. The artist owns the message, whether good or bad. After that, it’s up to YouTube and the public to decide. If you ask a barber for a bad haircut, do you blame the barber or your idea? If one studio refuses to record them, another will—so who loses? The producer?”
Defending Artists & Calling Out Hypocrisy
Mutulu further argued that artists often try different themes to get attention, especially when their gospel songs don’t gain traction. He challenged those condemning him to offer a solution instead of just complaining.

“When politicians sing, is that the producer’s fault or the artist’s idea? They prayed to Jesus, and you didn’t listen. Now they’ve changed the message, and suddenly, you’re listening. So, who is really to blame?”
His blunt response has drawn mixed reactions, with some supporting him for defending artistic freedom, while others accuse him of betraying his gospel roots by allowing vulgar content.
Mutua’s Stand & Stella Mengele’s Dilemma
The debate was triggered after Ezekiel Mutua slammed Ndeke Ya Muthanga’s songs as “pure madness” and vowed to take action against moral decay in the industry. This placed Stella Mengele, who had recently championed dignity in entertainment, in a tough position as her protégé’s music came under fire.

🔹 Should producers be held accountable for the content they record?
🔹 Is Mutua right to intervene, or is this an attack on creative freedom?
🔹 Will Stella Mengele break her silence and take a stand?
As tensions rise, the battle between morality and music rages on. Stay tuned for more updates as the drama unfolds!
