The National Liberal Party (NLP) has officially announced the date for its upcoming National Delegates Convention (NDC), slated for June 28, 2025, at the Woods Grounds in Kitui starting at 8:00 a.m. The meeting is set to play a key role in shaping the party’s leadership and legal structure as it prepares for the next general election cycle.

According to a public notice issued by Secretary General Omondi K’oyoo, the convention will focus on two critical items: the election of the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the ratification of amendments to the party’s constitution. The move is in line with the provisions of the NLP constitution, specifically Articles 6.3 and 7.3, which guide party governance.

Adding to the day’s significance, the NLP also announced the opening of its 30th branch in Lari, Kiambu County, marking a major milestone in the party’s national expansion strategy. The Lari office is expected to serve as a regional mobilization hub, especially as the party intensifies its grassroots engagement in the Mount Kenya region. The branch was unveiled in a well-attended ceremony featuring local leaders, party coordinators, and enthusiastic residents.
“This expansion into Kiambu demonstrates our resolve to be a truly national party,” said Secretary General K’oyoo. “We are not only preparing for the Kitui convention, but also laying the foundation for a people-centered 2027 political campaign.”

Eligible party members interested in running for NEC positions have until June 13, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. to submit their nomination papers. Forms can be downloaded from the party’s website at www.nationalliberalparty.co.ke or picked from the nearest NLP office. Submissions may also be sent electronically to info@nationalliberalparty.co.ke.
As preparations intensify, political observers are watching closely to see how the NLP’s convention and branch expansion efforts reshape the party’s influence on the national stage.
