Malava Member of Parliament, Hon. Malulu Injendi, is currently in critical condition at Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi, undergoing dialysis as he battles for his life in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Former Kakamega Senator and United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary-General Cleophas Malala confirmed the MP’s condition in a late-night statement, dismissing widespread rumors of Injendi’s death.
“The Member for Malava Constituency (The Hon. Malulu Injendi) is currently in the ICU, on dialysis, and fighting strong. The medical team is attending to him, and he’s responding. Keep him in your prayers,” Malala stated.
He further assured the public that the MP was alive as of 11:02 PM on Monday night, urging Kenyans to ignore false reports circulating on social media.

The nature of the MP’s illness remains undisclosed, but his hospitalization has sparked concern among his constituents and the larger Western Kenya political circles. A section of leaders has joined his family at the hospital, expressing solidarity and prayers for his recovery.

Malulu Injendi, who has been serving as Malava MP since 2013, is known for his active involvement in parliamentary debates and grassroots development initiatives. His sudden health crisis comes at a time when the political landscape in Western Kenya is heating up ahead of the 2027 elections.
