The Kamba music scene is on fire! Two of its familiar names, Katombi and Bisengo, have found themselves at the centre of a heated online exchange following the controversy surrounding Katombi’s viral song Wikend.

And just when fans thought the drama was about the song’s content, things took a personal turn, with pointed remarks, claims of enemies and a denial that has added more fuel to the fire.

Katombi is not taking the controversy lightly, and his latest social media post has left fans wondering who he believes was working behind the scenes.

‘Enemies are exposing themselves,’ Katombi says

Taking to social media, Katombi appeared to suggest that the saga had helped him identify people he suspected were against him.

“I like the way enemies expose themselves 😀😀 nilikuwa nashangaa who was behind all this,” he wrote.

The musician went on to question the treatment of Kamba music and took aim at those he believes have been opposing his work.

His remarks have stirred conversations among fans, with the dispute now threatening to overshadow the music itself.

But there is a catch: Katombi’s post does not, on its own, establish who was responsible for the original video’s removal.

    Bisengo: ‘I have zero involvement’

Before KFCB’s public statement on the Wikend video, Bisengo had already come out to distance himself from the unfolding saga.

Bisengo, a fellow Kamba artist who serves as a KFCB clean-content ambassador, insisted that he had no role in the decision to pull down the video.

“You know very well I can’t go against you. I recognize you and you give me job,” he said in his message to Katombi.

He went further, declaring: “I have zero involvement in that saga. Totally zero mbele ya God.”

Bisengo admitted that he had been questioned about the matter but said he did not want to clash with Tina, whom he identified as the video’s director and an actress.

He also claimed that he did not want Katombi’s song removed from digital streaming platforms.

Then came the allegation that has added another layer to the drama.

Bisengo claimed he knew who had ordered the song’s removal from YouTube, alleging that the person initially wanted a total ban.

According to Bisengo, some people within KFCB supported allowing the video to be edited instead.

These claims have not been independently verified, and neither the identity of the alleged person behind the order nor Bisengo’s account of the internal discussions has been established.

Bisengo, meanwhile, appeared determined not to prolong the public spat, saying he would not respond to the name-calling.

The irony? ‘Wikend’ was reportedly breaking records

While the artists exchange words, Wikend has another story to tell.

The song reportedly attracted massive attention shortly after its release, with claims that it pulled in 500,000 views within two days.

It was also promoted as the first Kamba song to reach that milestone within the period and the first Kamba music release to top the daily trending chart. Those historical claims have yet to be independently confirmed.

The original video was subsequently taken down following the KFCB intervention over its explicit content, forcing Katombi to re-edit the visuals before uploading the song again.

And the comeback appears to have attracted attention too.

The revised video was reported to have garnered more than 140,000 views in 19 hours and entered the top 10 trending list.

If those figures hold, the controversy has not stopped fans from checking out the song.

Kamba music drama or a bigger fight over creative freedom?

The clash has put the spotlight on the tensions that can arise when musicians, content regulators and clean-content campaigns collide.

For Katombi, the immediate issue is the removal of the original video and the need to rework its content. For Bisengo, the public dispute has become an opportunity to make it clear that he says he was not behind the action.

But with the two artists now exchanging pointed messages, fans are likely to keep watching for the next development.

Will the two musicians clear the air, or is this the beginning of a bigger fallout in the Kamba entertainment scene?

For now, one thing is clear: Wikend has become about more than music. It is a story of a controversial video, a public denial, pointed social media remarks and a song whose reported online numbers continue to attract attention.
