Installation of Dr Augustus Kyalo Muli as the National Anzauni Patron has caused political tension in Kitui’s political space, Channel 15 News can report.
Since his installation two weeks ago, the Kyalo Kya Maendeeo founder has made friends and enemies equally, questions being asked left , right and center about what political seat is Dr Augustus Kyalo Muli is interested in 2027, but the National Anzauni Patron has refused to be dragged into that topic.
” We are not interested in any political seat for now. We are interested in bringing our people together, championing for their interest and oversighting both elected and nominated leaders in ensuring that they deliver services to our people ” remarked Dr Augustus Kyalo Muli in his acceptance speech as the National Anzauni Patron.
But it is his style of doing politics that has got local political leaders scared of his influence following his installation .
One man who has refused to ignore the conversation on the rising political influence of Dr Augustus Kyalo Muli is none other than sitting Mp of Kitui Central Hon Makali Muli , who was part of the invited guest at Muli’s installation but skipped the event.
Speaking over the weekend at a funeral of former Councilor the late Malinga in Kyangwithya, the aspiring gubernatorial candidate Hon Makali Mulu cautioned the National Anzauni Patron to go slow on his “Kusuvia Mbai ” initiative.
Makali who had arrived at the time Dr Augustus Kyalo Muli got at the funeral was irked by a commotion after the Kyalo Kya Maendeeo founder entered the compound in company of over 200 youth chanting “Musuvii wa Mbai”. The youths had gathered at the entrance to the funeral , after news went around that Dr Augustus Kyalo Muli would be attending the send off ceremony.
When Makali took to the podium , he expressed his displeasure with the nature of the arrival of the Kyalo Kya Maendeeo founder at the funeral ceremony.
In his defence Dr Augustus Kyalo Muli responded that there was nothing wrong with youths associating with him after elected leaders abandoned them and left them hopeless without fulfilling their promises they made to them during campaign period.
“Am the National Anzauni Patron, these youths have had hopes in our elected leaders but have been let down. Am their patron, there is nothing wrong in them taking pride in their leader. We will find ways of restoring hopes in their life ” Said Muli
