The State of The County adress yesterday by H.E Hon Dr Julius Makau Malombe at the County Assembly chambers , has given birth to some calmness in the political arena of Kitui politics.
This is after newly installed National Anzauni Patron Dr Augustus Kyalo Muli and who has for a long time been viewed as governor’s Malombe’s fierce critic had a handshake with governor Malombe during a luncheon held yesterday evening at Kitui Parkside Villa Hotel , bringing to an end perceived hostility between the two leaders.
The founder of Kyalo Kya Maendeeo CBO and which has been dealing with women empowerment projects in Kitui County for close to three years , had been invited as a guest by the Speaker of Kitui County Assembly during The State Of County adress by governor Malombe and sat at the public gallery in the house chambers next to Kitui Deputy governor Hon Augustine Kanani .
But it’s at the luncheon at The Kitui Parkside Villa where the truce was broken and Dr Augustus Kyalo Muli’s handshake with governor Malombe happened.
While addressing those present at the luncheon, Dr Augustus Kyalo Muli made it clear that his government critic was not directly targeted at the governor but specifically at the appointed leaders who have been letting him down in delivery of services to the people.
“The point is Kitui people are counting on the governor to deliver and help this county move forward . Sometimes when am criticizing the county government is not because am against the governor or i want to be a governor, am representing the interest of my people. Am backing up what governor Malombe has said today and challenge the appointed leaders tasked with implementing his plans to deliver as expected ” Said the Anzauni National Patron.
