The seminarians from the Catholic Diocese of Kitui reported back to their seminaries on August 2nd, 2024, after a long holiday that started on May 4th.
During their break, they gained pastoral experience by preaching, visiting Small Christian Communities (SCCs), and organizing various church groups.
Before resuming their studies, they attended their Annual General Meeting and Recollection at St. Joseph’s Junior Seminary from July 29th to August 1st, led by Rev. Fr. Anthony Musyoki from the Machakos Diocese.
In the meeting, the seminarians shared their pastoral experiences with the Vocations Director, Rev. Fr. Edward Mulwa, and his assistant, Rev. Fr. Paul Mutemi, who encouraged them to diligently care for their vocation and studies.
The diocese has 90 seminarians at various formation stages, with 11 new aspirants joining the major seminary this year. Additionally, seven seminarians have completed their formation and are set to be ordained as deacons in December 2024.
