Kyuso Level IV Hospital in Mwingi North Sub-County is set for a major transformation, bringing hope to residents who rely on it for essential healthcare services. The County Government of Kitui, under the leadership of Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, has unveiled plans to upgrade the facility with modern infrastructure to improve service delivery and reduce patient referrals.

As part of the ambitious project, a state-of-the-art Outpatient Department (OPD), a fully equipped theatre, and new pediatric and female wards will be constructed. These upgrades aim to address overcrowding, enhance efficiency, and ensure residents of Mwingi North have access to high-quality healthcare services closer to home.

“This new OPD will ease congestion and provide a better environment for patients and staff,” said Dr. Benson Musyoka, the Chief Officer for Medical Services, during a recent visit to the hospital.

In addition to the new facilities, a borehole has been drilled to address water shortages that have hampered operations. The borehole will be fully equipped by the end of the year, ensuring a reliable water supply for the hospital.

Kyuso Level IV Hospital serves as a critical healthcare hub for the region, offering services to thousands of residents. The planned upgrades are part of Governor Malombe’s broader vision to revolutionize healthcare in Kitui County, a key pillar of his manifesto.

Dr. Musyoka was joined on the visit by Dr. Ndetei Mutisya from the Department of Medical Services and other senior officials, reflecting the County Government’s commitment to delivering tangible results.

Construction of the new facilities is expected to begin soon, with the County Government promising unwavering support to ensure timely completion. Once complete, the upgrades will mark a significant milestone in healthcare delivery, reaffirming the administration’s dedication to improving lives in Mwingi North and beyond.

This modernization project signals a new chapter for Kyuso Level IV Hospital, paving the way for better healthcare and fulfilling a long-standing promise to the people of Kitui County.
