A glamorous housewarming party hosted on Saturday night by flamboyant logistics tycoon Alex David, alias Prezzo Logistics, in Kola, Machakos County, ended in chaos after celebrated Kithungo Rahaa Band leader Maima abruptly stopped his performance and stormed off stage, protesting what he termed as harassment of fans by security guards.

The high-profile event, dubbed Runda Ukamba House Awarming , was graced by top names in Kamba entertainment and political circles, including Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti, and former Machakos Town MP Victor Munyaka, alongside several local celebrities and influencers.

The drama unfolded when security personnel aggressively prevented fans from approaching the stage to dance around Maima — a signature part of his performances. The singer, visibly irritated, paused the show and shouted into the microphone:
“Security, stop this nonsense… Let the people come closer. If they can’t approach the stage, I won’t continue with the show.”
When his plea was ignored, Maima dropped the mic and walked off stage, cutting the performance short and leaving fans in shock.

Channel 15 Celeb Buzz is in possession of exclusive video footage capturing the standoff, showing the moment Maima clashed with guards before exiting the stage.
Kwitu FM presenter DJ Biado, who was among the entertainers present, criticized the security team’s conduct in a public statement. He urged event organizers to be more flexible and respectful of artists’ creative choices and fan interactions. Biado revealed he was almost ejected from the stage by a bouncer who didn’t recognize him, despite performing at the event.

“Stage security is important, yes, but it must be applied with friendliness and understanding,” he noted, adding that “fans come to dance to the music they love, not to be shoved around.”
Biado emphasized that the issue lay with the security team, not the host, and called for better planning and coordination in future events.

As of Sunday evening, Maima had not issued an official statement, though a source who spoke to Channel 15 Celebrity Buzz on condition of anonymity close say he is demanding a formal apology and assurances that similar incidents won’t recur.
What was meant to be a night of celebration and community bonding turned into a cautionary tale about the importance of respecting fan-artist connections in live performances.
