A New Jersey family in the United States of America is mourning after two sisters died heroically on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025, when they rushed back into their burning home in a desperate attempt to save their disabled father.

Frantzia Fleury, 49, and her younger sister, 42-year-old Pojanee Fleury, were pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the fire broke out around 5 p.m. on Mosswood Avenue in Orange, New Jersey. According to authorities, the pair had initially escaped the blaze but ran back inside upon realizing their father—who uses a wheelchair and lives with dementia—was still trapped.

Emergency responders later confirmed that their father, along with six other occupants, managed to escape the inferno unharmed. However, the elderly man was hospitalized due to smoke inhalation.

Neighbors described the Fleury sisters as warm, dedicated, and beloved members of the community, known for maintaining a tidy home and for their friendliness. Their deaths have left the neighborhood in deep shock as investigations into the cause of the fire continue.
