Tragedy has struck the family of Dagoretti North Member of Parliament Beatrice Elachi after her son, Elvis Murakana, succumbed to injuries sustained in a horrific road accident.
Elvis, described as a vibrant young man with a bright future, passed away on Tuesday while receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a city hospital. Sources close to the family revealed that Elvis had been fighting for his life since the weekend crash, which left him critically injured.

The accident, whose exact circumstances remain unclear, reportedly occurred along one of Nairobi’s busy roads. Eyewitnesses say the impact of the crash was so severe that it left the vehicle mangled beyond recognition. Elvis was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, where medics battled to save his life for days before he sadly lost the fight.
A somber mood engulfed Dagoretti North constituency and political circles as news of the tragic death broke on Tuesday afternoon. Emotional tributes have since poured in from friends, family, and fellow leaders, who described Elvis as humble, respectful, and full of promise.

MP Beatrice Elachi, known for her resilience and unwavering dedication to her constituents, is said to be devastated by the loss of her son. “It is a dark moment for Hon. Elachi and her family. Losing a child is every parent’s worst nightmare,” a close ally said.
Leaders from across the political divide have sent their condolences, with Nairobi leaders planning to visit Elachi’s home to condole with the family. Kenyans online also expressed their shock and sympathy, calling for increased road safety measures to prevent such avoidable tragedies.
Elvis’s death now adds to the growing number of young lives lost in fatal road accidents across the country. According to the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), Kenya continues to record an alarming rise in road carnage, sparking concerns over reckless driving, poor road conditions, and enforcement failures.
