Kibwezi West, Makueni – Tension is simmering in Kibwezi West Constituency after boda boda riders issued a 24-hour ultimatum to their MP, Hon. Mwengi Mutuse, to disclose the identities of those behind a series of killings targeting riders in the area.

The ultimatum comes after the MP allegedly admitted publicly that he is aware of the individuals responsible for the attacks. Speaking to journalists, the leadership of the Makueni Boda Boda Riders Association said they arrived at the decision after Hon. Mutuse’s remarks, demanding immediate action and accountability.

“We are tired of living in fear. Our colleagues are being killed, and if our MP knows who is behind these murders, he must speak now. We are giving him 24 hours to tell us the truth,” said a visibly angry boda boda rider during the press briefing.
The riders further accused security agencies of laxity, claiming that despite multiple cases of their colleagues being targeted, little has been done to apprehend the culprits.
The situation remains volatile, with the possibility of protests if the MP fails to respond within the given timeframe. Local authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the matter, but pressure is mounting for immediate intervention to prevent potential unrest.
