Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has issued a fiery warning over Kenyaโs latest fuel price increases, demanding immediate tax relief and government subsidies as anger grows over the rising cost of living.
In a strongly worded statement, Nyoro took aim at the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA), accusing those behind the latest price review of disregarding the financial struggles facing ordinary Kenyans.
โDO NOT dare Kenyans,โ the MP declared, warning that citizens would not accept what he described as an unacceptable increase in fuel prices.

Nyoro called on the government to exempt all fuel products from Value Added Tax (VAT), reduce fuel levies and introduce subsidies to cushion households and businesses against the rising cost of petroleum products.
โYou must VAT exempt all Fuel products. Reduction of fuel levy must happen. Subsidies must be provisioned. You had all the time to do this, donโt come with excuses,โ he said.
Nyoro Makes Explosive Claims Over Oil Interests
The Kiharu legislator also raised questions about alleged interests linked to Turkana oil and the Dangote East African Petroleum Refinery, claiming that the same group of individuals was involved in both.
He further alleged that President William Ruto was benefiting from the fuel crisis at the expense of Kenyans.

The claims add a political dimension to the fuel price controversy, with Nyoro challenging the government to explain its response to rising petroleum costs.
The allegations about presidential benefit and ownership interests have not been independently established in this report.
Government Under Pressure Over Fuel Costs
Fuel prices have far-reaching consequences for the Kenyan economy, influencing public transport fares, the cost of moving goods, food prices and the operating expenses of businesses.
Nyoro argued that the government had sufficient time to introduce measures to cushion consumers and should not offer excuses for failing to act.

His demands for VAT exemption, lower fuel levies and subsidies place the spotlight on the tax and policy options available to the government as households grapple with the cost of living.
The MP ended his statement with a direct warning to those responsible for fuel pricing and policy decisions.
โWe are African and Africa is our Business,โ he declared.
