A 16-year-old boy from Nyakiambi area in Molo, Nakuru County, has confessed to murdering his mother in a chilling domestic incident that has shocked residents.
According to a police report from Elburgon Police Station, the minor — identified as AG, a Form Three school dropout — attacked and killed his mother on Friday, July 25, after she allegedly refused to disclose the identity of his biological father.
Authorities say the boy hit his mother multiple times on the head, killing her instantly inside their residential house. The incident came to light on Sunday when the victim’s brother reported to police that his sister had been murdered.

Officers from Elburgon Police Station and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Molo responded swiftly to the alert and found the middle-aged woman lying dead in her house.
Shockingly, the minor had reportedly spent Saturday digging a shallow grave in an adjacent house within the same compound, where he intended to secretly bury the body on Sunday morning.
However, the burial plan was thwarted when police arrested the boy on Sunday before he could proceed.
The deceased’s body was transferred to Elburgon Level IV Hospital mortuary for preservation and postmortem examination. Investigations are ongoing to determine whether the minor acted alone and to understand the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police have termed the case as “deeply disturbing,” with child welfare and psychological evaluation experts expected to be involved in the boy’s assessment.
