National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has dismissed as fake a letter circulating on social media purporting to originate from the Office of the Clerk of the National Assembly.
The falsified document, dated 30th October 2025, claims to request the vetting of individuals allegedly nominated for Cabinet positions. It is addressed to the Chief Executive Officer of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and lists several supposed nominees.
Despite bearing the National Assembly letterhead and the name of Clerk Samuel Njoroge, the speaker has called on members of the public to disregard the letter.

Speaker Wetang’ula, who shared the image of the document, cautioned the public against falling for misinformation and urged Kenyans to verify all official communications through recognized parliamentary channels.
“The letter being circulated is fake and should be ignored. The National Assembly has not sent any such communication to the EACC or initiated any vetting process for Cabinet nominees,” Wetang’ula stated.
He termed the circulation of the fake document as a malicious attempt to mislead the public and stir unnecessary speculation over possible Cabinet appointments.
The Speaker reaffirmed that any genuine communication from Parliament will be shared only through official channels, including the National Assembly’s verified website and social media accounts.
