Regina Munanu Kitheka, a bright and promising athlete from Mukuthu Primary School in Mwingi West, Kitui County, has etched her name in the annals of sports history by becoming the East Africa Primary Schools 100 Metres champion. The Grade 7 pupil showcased her incredible speed and determination at the ongoing East Africa Primary Schools Games, currently being held in Uganda.
In a fiercely competitive race that featured some of the best young sprinters from across the region, Regina stood out as she blazed down the track, leaving her competitors in the dust. Her victory was met with loud cheers from the crowd, as she crossed the finish line in first place, securing the gold medal for Kenya.This win is not only a personal triumph for Regina but also a significant achievement for Mukuthu Primary School and the entire Kitui County.
