President William Ruto will on Thursday, November 20, 2025, present his fourth State of the Nation Address during a joint sitting of the National Assembly and Senate.

In an official communication to MPs on Tuesday, National Assembly Speaker Moses Masika Wetang’ula confirmed receiving a formal message from the Head of State indicating his intention to address Parliament in line with the Constitution.

“I wish to notify the House that I have received a message from His Excellency the President stating that he plans to deliver the 13th State of the Nation Address, 2025, to Parliament pursuant to Article 132(1) of the Constitution, on Thursday, 20th November 2025,” Speaker Wetang’ula told legislators.

The joint sitting will be convened in the National Assembly Chamber starting at 2:30 pm.

According to Article 132(1) of the Constitution, the President is required to address a special sitting of Parliament once every year, with the option to appear before the House at any other time.
Sub-articles 132(1)(b) and 132(1)(c) further mandate the President to report on steps taken, and progress made, in advancing the national values and principles of governance as outlined in Article 10.

Additionally, the President must table a report—subject to debate in the National Assembly—detailing Kenya’s progress in fulfilling its international obligations.

President Ruto’s address is expected to outline the administration’s achievements over the past year, policy priorities, and commitments for the year ahead.
