The National Liberal Party (NLP) under the electrifying leadership of Dr. Augustus Kyalo Muli today brought Ngomeni Town in Mwingi North Constituency to a complete standstill, as the party’s Day Three Grassroots Popularization Caravan stormed through with unprecedented energy, fanfare, and ground-level support.

As crowds flooded the streets to welcome the convoy, party officials held roadside engagements, market stopovers, and impromptu public forums — all aimed at connecting directly with citizens and recruiting new members into what is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about political movements in the region.

“We have not just come to speak. We have come to listen. The people of Mwingi North are sending a message — they are ready for a new direction,” said Dr. Muli, amid cheers and chants of “Maendeleo kwa Wote!”

In a Constituency best known as the political home of former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, today’s overwhelming reception for NLP marked a bold and strategic signal: a new force is rising — and it’s not afraid to plant flags where others once ruled uncontested.

Ngomeni residents, some waving improvised NLP flags and holding up posters of Dr. Muli, said they were thrilled to interact with a leader who had “come down to their level without a helicopter or bulletproof convoy.”

Registration booths were set up at key stops, with hundreds of new members signing up, including youth groups, boda boda operators, women’s sacco leaders, and small-scale traders eager to be part of what they described as “the future of Eastern Kenya politics.”

“For the first time, we are seeing a party that looks like us, sounds like us, and actually shows up,” said Mutua Ndunda, a youth leader from Ngomeni.

The caravan’s next stops include Katulani, Kaai, and Mutyangome, with anticipation already building for tomorrow’s grand finale at Kitui Town, where a mega rally is expected.

As the NLP caravan blazes through Lower Eastern with rising enthusiasm, one thing is clear: this is no longer just a grassroots tour — it’s a political awakening.
