Popular radio presenter Irene Nyanzi, known by her fans as “Mwela Wa Town,” has rejoined Mbaitu FM after nearly a year with rival station Kamba FM, in a surprising turn of events.
Nyanzi had previously left Mbaitu FM to host Kamba FM’s Drive-in Show alongside Myello, where she quickly became a fan favorite. She has now been replaced at Kamba FM by Grace Softie.
The return of Nyanzi to Mbaitu FM is seen as a significant move for the station, which lost its beloved host, Mercy Mawia, earlier this year. The reunion was marked by a live Facebook broadcast, where veteran presenter Sammy Mulinge welcomed her back to the station in a heartwarming interview.
Nyanzi has now been paired with Kisae on Mbaitu FM’s Drive-in Show, which airs from 4 PM to 7 PM. Fans of the station are excited to hear her back on air, with many expressing their joy at her return.
Her re-entry into the Mbaitu FM family is expected to boost listenership, especially following the tragic loss of Mercy Mawia. Nyanzi’s experience and unique style are anticipated to bring new energy to the station.
