Betty Nditi Mutinda, the beloved sister of renowned Kamba artist Jackson Mutinda, popularly known as Masekete, was laid to rest today in Katoloni, Machakos Town Constituency, Machakos County. The solemn ceremony was attended by top personalities from the Kamba gospel and benga music industry, alongside key leaders from the region.

Among the distinguished guests present was Machakos Governor Hon. Wavinya Ndeti, who paid a moving tribute to the late Betty, describing her as a hardworking and resilient woman who faced life’s challenges with grace. The governor noted Betty’s commitment to her family and her role as a dedicated mother.

“Betty was a young and talented professional who passed on while undergoing treatment at a city hospital. My heart goes out to her family, friends, and the entire Kiima Kimwe community for this tragic loss. May her soul rest in eternal peace,” Governor Wavinya Ndeti said in her eulogy.
Betty Nditi passed away following complications that arose after undergoing a Caesarean section at a hospital in Kitui. She was later transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital, where she tragically passed on while receiving treatment.

Her brother, Masekete, has since pointed to medical negligence as a contributing factor to her untimely death, calling for accountability in the healthcare system.

The ceremony saw emotional tributes from family members, friends, and fellow artists, all remembering Betty as a beacon of love, resilience, and dedication. May she rest in peace.
