Kibwezi, Makueni County – A Makueni family is reeling from a devastating loss after a road accident along the Kitui–Kibwezi Road at Kisayani claimed the lives of a bride-to-be, her daughter, and two other relatives.
Madam Jackline Musyoki, a Mathematics and Business Studies teacher at St. Mary’s Kinyambu Secondary School, died alongside her daughter, mother-in-law, and another woman reported to be her sister-in-law.

The tragedy struck as the family was travelling home from a dowry payment ceremony for Madam Jackline in Kitui, held in preparation for her wedding scheduled for this coming Sunday.
In a condolence message, Festus Muthoka, the Assistant Executive Secretary of the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) – Kibwezi branch, described the incident as a “profound shock and deep sadness” to colleagues, students, and the wider school community.
“On behalf of the teachers of Kibwezi, we extend our deepest sympathies to Mr. Moki, the teachers, students, board, and parents of St. Mary’s Kinyambu. Let us keep the bereaved family in our thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time,” Muthoka said.
The late Jackline was the wife of Mr. Moki, a teacher at Nguumo Girls Secondary School.
An official condolence message from the Executive Secretary of KUPPET is expected to be issued in the coming days.
The accident has left the local community mourning the untimely loss of a young bride-to-be whose life and dreams were cut short, adding to growing concerns over road safety along the busy Kitui–Kibwezi corridor.
