National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah has firmly denied allegations of an ongoing effort to impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Speaking earlier today, Ichung’wah refuted claims circulating in certain political circles that MPs were collecting signatures for such a motion, asserting that no Member of Parliament has initiated any steps toward Gachagua’s impeachment.
“Let me make it clear: no one in the House has begun gathering signatures for any impeachment motion against the Deputy President. These are baseless rumors being spread for reasons best known to those behind them,” Ichung’wah stated during a press briefing in Nairobi.

The Majority Leader emphasized that the country’s leadership remains united in its efforts to address key national issues and accused opposition figures of attempting to create unnecessary political drama. He urged the public to ignore the speculation and focus on more pressing matters affecting Kenyans, such as economic recovery and ongoing reforms.
This statement comes amid growing political tensions, with some opposition leaders hinting at possible friction within the ruling administration. However, Ichung’wah’s dismissal of the impeachment claims has been viewed as an attempt to solidify the image of a cohesive government.
