Grief has engulfed Kitui County and the country’s professional circles following the tragic death of renowned accountant and advocate Michael Nzili, the founder of Nzili & Company Accountants & Tax Consultants.

Nzili, a towering figure in both the legal and accounting professions, lost his life in a grisly road accident along the Mombasa-Kilifi Road on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Witnesses described the crash as horrific, cutting short the life of a man whose professional and personal impact had been felt across the region for decades.

For years, Michael Nzili served as a beacon of excellence, combining legal expertise with financial acumen to build one of the most respected tax consultancy firms in the country. Colleagues describe him as a mentor, a gentleman, and a committed professional whose integrity and dedication to service stood unmatched.

The family, in an emotional announcement, confirmed the devastating loss and appealed to friends, colleagues, and well-wishers for spiritual, moral, and financial support to accord the late Mzee Nzili a befitting send-off.

“He was not just a father and husband but a pillar of wisdom and guidance to many. His death has left us shattered, but we are determined to give him a farewell that reflects the stature of the man he was,” the family said.

The burial is scheduled for Saturday, April 5, 2025, at his rural home in Kithumula Village, Kithumula Ward, Kitui West Constituency.

The legal and accounting fraternity, county leadership, business leaders, and the community at large are expected to gather in large numbers to pay their last respects to a man whose name became synonymous with professionalism and mentorship.

As the countdown to his final journey begins, tributes continue to pour in from all corners of the country, painting the picture of a man whose legacy will forever remain etched in the hearts of those he served, led, and inspired.

Rest in Peace, Michael Nzili. Your legacy lives on.
