Kitui Woman Representative Dr. Irene Kasalu has called on security agencies to urgently arrest those responsible for the recent wave of killings targeting women in Kitui County.
Speaking in Voo, Kitui East Constituency, Kasalu condemned the latest murder of a woman whose body was discovered on Sunday in Kitui Town, bringing the number of women killed under similar circumstances to four in the last two months.

The Woman Representative expressed concern over the growing insecurity and fear among residents, particularly women, and urged police to intensify investigations and bring those responsible to justice.

“We cannot continue losing our women under such brutal circumstances. Security agencies must act swiftly and ensure those behind these killings are arrested and prosecuted,” she said.
Kasalu further called on security officers to move with speed in dismantling criminal gangs and apprehending any individuals involved in what many residents fear could be a coordinated pattern of attacks targeting women.

Her remarks come amid growing public outrage over the killings, with residents demanding answers and stronger security measures following a series of unresolved murders reported in Slaughter Estate, Kalundu, Ngiini and most recently behind Marie Garden Hotel in Kitui Town.
