A burial in Kenya turned tense and emotional after a grieving daughter openly shamed relatives for neglecting her late mother during her years of illness, only to show up in numbers at her funeral.
In an undated video that has since gone viral, the young woman, overwhelmed with grief, accused her family of hypocrisy. She revealed that for the past four years her mother was unwell, she and her siblings bore the heavy responsibility of ensuring she never missed a single treatment, while relatives kept their distance.

“I never missed a single hospital visit with my mother,” she cried out, “yet none of you came forward to help. But today, you are all here to mourn her.”
She questioned the meaning of paying last respects when her mother needed care and compassion most while still alive. The daughter reminded the mourners that she and her siblings had long anticipated the sudden show of affection at the funeral, before firmly telling relatives that while they were “okay,” they needed to “do better.”
The raw and heartbreaking rebuke has since sparked widespread debate online, with many Kenyans applauding her courage for speaking out about family neglect and the painful hypocrisy that often surfaces at funerals.
