Detectives in Mukaa Ward, Kilome Constituency, Makueni County, have launched investigations into a brutal incident in which a woman and her 20-year-old daughter were gang-raped during a violent home invasion on Tuesday night.

According to the victim, four armed men stormed their home at around 11pm, tied up her husband, and then took turns sexually assaulting both her and her daughter before fleeing with 46 goats.

“Wawili walikuwa warefu wakaanza kuongea na mzee wakamwambia ukitaka kifo ni unyamaze…” the woman recounted, describing how the attackers threatened her husband into silence.

Following the incident, neighbors managed to recover 40 of the stolen goats, but the suspects escaped with six. Police have confirmed they are pursuing key leads and are confident that arrests will follow soon.

The incident has sparked outrage across the village, with residents accusing local security officers of negligence, saying their inaction has allowed livestock theft and sexual violence to escalate. They are now demanding immediate police intervention and a restoration of security in the area.

During a security meeting held at Upeponi village, local officials assured the community that intensified patrols are ongoing. Authorities also reported that 98 goats and 14 cows have been recovered in the past week.

“Patrols zinafanywa vizuri, tukiendelea hivi na kushirikiana na wenyeji tuwe tunapasha na kushare information,” said Malili Sub-county Police Commander Hussein Abduba, urging residents to actively share information with police.
