The Catholic Diocese of Kitui has today convened a Diocesan Pastoral Council Meeting at the Kitui Pastoral Centre, bringing together nearly 90 participants, including parish priests and lay leaders, for a two-day meeting.
The meeting which kicked of today morning has been convened in respect to Canon 511of the Roman Catholic Church which defines a pastoral council as the main body of the faithful whose responsibility is to study and weigh matters which concern the pastoral work in the Diocese and propose to the Bishop ways of bringing them to conclusion.

During the meeting, the Pastoral Council is expected to come up with ideas that will facilitate the enhancement of human dignity through realistic and sustainable programs and projects in accordance with gospel values and the teachings of the Church.

According to the office of the Bishop Communicatione Office, the Diocesan Pastoral Council is expected to discuss reports/updates from Deaneries, departments, and St. Joseph’s Seminary. Additionally, the agendas includes deliberations on the Thome Plaza Project, Museve Shrine, Diocesan Jubilee Celebrations, and review of the Diocesan Pastoral Strategic Plan draft for the period 2024-2028.
