A solemn mood has engulfed Kalinditi village in Kitui West Constituency as the final rites for the late Robert Mwangangi Mwongela are currently being held.

The ceremony, which is being presided over by Fr. Julius Muthamba of Kabati Parish under the Catholic Church, has attracted a significant gathering of mourners, including political leaders, clergy, relatives, and friends.

Notably in attendance is Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, who joined residents and dignitaries in paying tribute to the late Mwongela. The deceased was an in-law to Nicholas Mulila, a prominent businessman and a key gubernatorial contender in the upcoming Kitui elections.

Speakers at the event have lauded Mwongela as a principled and community-minded individual whose legacy will endure among those who knew him.

The ceremony continues with tributes and prayers as the community rallies around the bereaved family during this moment of loss.
