A mother and her friend have been arrested in connection with the tragic and brutal death of a four-year-old boy. The shocking incident, which took place in Nairobi, has sparked outrage, with many calling for swift justice.

The mother, identified as Melvin Owuor, allegedly took her son’s lifeless body to Mama Lucy Hospital mortuary on December 9, 2024, in the company of her friend. However, after reporting the incident to the police as instructed by morgue officials, the two vanished without a trace—switching off their phones and failing to return.

Their disappearance raised suspicion, prompting the hospital mortician to alert officers at Mowlem Police Station. Detectives from Dandora, working alongside the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) in Nairobi, swiftly launched investigations, uncovering disturbing details surrounding the child’s final moments.

While Owuor initially claimed that her son died in his sleep, forensic investigations revealed that the minor had succumbed to injuries inflicted by his own mother. The child’s alleged crime? Wetting himself. It is believed that in a fit of rage, the mother unleashed a brutal assault on the helpless boy, leading to his untimely death.

The revelation that Owuor was indeed the biological mother of the victim has added a chilling layer to an already horrific case. Authorities have since placed her and her accomplice in custody as detectives piece together the events that led to the child’s tragic end.

The heart-wrenching case has reignited national discussions on child abuse, parental responsibility, and the need for urgent interventions to protect vulnerable children from violence within their own homes.

As investigations continue, Kenyans are demanding justice for the innocent child whose life was cut short in the most tragic of circumstances.
