The media fraternity and the broader community are in mourning following the sudden passing of County FM’s cherished news anchor and Nzililo Sya Ituni show host, Dorcas Mbai Nyila, affectionately known as ‘Kashe Ka County.’

Dorcas passed away in the early hours of the morning while receiving treatment at a hospital in Machakos. Her untimely death has left a void in the hearts of many who tuned in daily to hear her warm voice and felt her unwavering passion for community issues.

With a career marked by integrity and a genuine connection to her audience, Dorcas was more than just a news anchor—she was a pillar of strength and an advocate for the voiceless. Her signature program, Nzililo Sya Ituni, became a beacon of hope, addressing societal concerns and championing the cause of the everyday mwananchi.

“Dorcas was a light to all of us,” a colleague at County FM reflected, “Her laughter, dedication, and love for this community were unparalleled. She taught us to see beyond the headlines, to care deeply about the stories we told.”

The loss of Dorcas Mbai Nyila is felt far beyond the County FM studios. Tributes have poured in from listeners, public figures, and fellow journalists, all remembering her as a trailblazer whose contributions transcended the microphone.

As the community grapples with this heartbreaking news, plans are underway to honor Dorcas’ legacy through a memorial service that will celebrate her life and immense contributions to Machakos and beyond.

Rest in peace, Dorcas. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will forever inspire.
