Kitui County police have arrested the suspect believed to have carried out a brutal knife attack on a middle-aged woman and her minor in Tiva Village, Kyangwithya West Ward, Kitui Central Sub-County. The arrest, which took place this afternoon in Kyamathyaka, comes just hours after the shocking assault left the victims hospitalized at Kitui Referral Hospital.
According to eyewitness reports, the attacker ambushed the mother and child in the early hours of the morning, inflicting serious injuries before vanishing into the night. Confirming the arrest, Kyangwithya West Location Chief John Wambua told Channel 15 News that the suspect is currently being held at Itoleka Police Station and is set to appear in court tomorrow. “Our officers acted swiftly on intelligence reports, leading to the successful capture of the suspect. We are committed to ensuring justice for the victims,” Chief Wambua said.
