Kesogon Girls High School has ascended to the pinnacle of East African secondary school volleyball after dethroning the formidable Kwathanze Girls High School to clinch the coveted East Africa Secondary School volleyball title.

In a thrilling encounter at the East African Ball Games held in Bukedea, Uganda, Kesogon Girls emerged victorious, overpowering Kwathanze Girls in a dramatic three-set showdown. The victory marks a significant milestone for the team, as they broke Kwathanze’s two-year reign as the regional champions.

Kwathanze Girls High School, hailing from Machakos County, Kenya, entered the tournament as the defending champions, having claimed the title in two consecutive years. However, their hopes of securing a third consecutive win were dashed as Kesogon Girls delivered a stellar performance that left no room for a comeback.

The clash between these two volleyball powerhouses was highly anticipated, given their longstanding rivalry. Kesogon Girls’ win not only secured them the title but also signaled a shift in dominance within East African school volleyball.

The victory by Kesogon Girls highlights the depth of talent and competitiveness within the region, as teams continue to challenge the status quo and raise the level of the sport. With this win, Kesogon Girls have firmly established themselves as the new team to beat in East African secondary school volleyball.
