    The education fraternity in Homa Bay County has been plunged into mourning following the death of Ratanga Girls’ High School Senior Principal, , who has been remembered as a passionate educator and a strong advocate for girls’ empowerment.

    County officials expressed deep sorrow over her passing, describing Madam Ngesa as a dedicated leader whose commitment to education and mentorship left a lasting impact on learners and colleagues alike.

    “I am saddened to learn of the passing of Madam Mildred Ngesa, the Senior Principal of Ratanga Girls’ High School,” the statement from the County Government of Homa Bay read in part.

    Madam Ngesa was widely recognized for her active role in championing the Governor’s Girls’ Mentorship Camp, where she served as a key host last year. Her warmth, leadership, and unwavering support were credited with contributing significantly to the success of the program.

    “She was a dedicated champion of our Governor’s Girls’ Mentorship Camp. Her warmth and generous support as last year’s host were instrumental to the program’s success, and her belief in the potential of every girl will forever remain an inspiration,” the statement added.

    Leaders further noted that her legacy extended beyond the classroom, highlighting her commitment to nurturing confidence, discipline, and ambition among young girls in the region.

    “To her family, the students, staff, and parents of Ratanga Girls’ High School, and to the entire education fraternity, I extend my deepest condolences and those of the County Government of Homa Bay. May her legacy of service and dedication endure in the lives she touched,” the statement concluded.

    Her passing has left a profound void in the education sector, with tributes continuing to pour in from colleagues, learners, and education stakeholders who described her as a mentor, leader, and role model.
