The National Economic Development Party (NEDP), associated with former Nairobi Governor , has suspended its Secretary-General Ben Mulwa over allegations of misconduct and alleged disrespect toward party leadership.
In a statement from the party leadership, Mulwa is accused of breaching internal party conduct rules, prompting immediate disciplinary action pending formal proceedings. The party says the decision was necessary to safeguard internal order and uphold discipline within its ranks.
The leadership further announced the appointment of Onchari Oyeyo as the acting Secretary-General, taking over party coordination duties as disciplinary processes against Mulwa get underway.
The emphasized that the suspension is not a final determination of guilt, noting that Mulwa will be accorded a fair hearing before a conclusive decision is made.
“The matter will undergo disciplinary proceedings and a final determination will be made in accordance with party regulations,” the statement indicated.
The development has sparked internal political debate within the party, with observers noting growing tensions and leadership realignments as NEDP seeks to consolidate its structures.
More details are expected as the disciplinary committee begins its work and party officials clarify the direction of leadership changes.
