Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has launched a fiery attack on President William Ruto, condemning his decision to host Sudanese rebels in Nairobi and warning that it could destabilize Kenya’s diplomatic relations with Sudan. Speaking during a meet-and-greet in Mwea, after attending the wedding of Samson and Josephine Kamuchere at ACK Rangondu in Kagio, Kalonzo accused the President of making reckless foreign policy decisions that could backfire.

“The President has made a reckless decision by allowing the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) to hold meetings in Nairobi. This move will create unnecessary tensions with Sudan,” Kalonzo said. “Kenya should not be used as a playground for warlords. Instead, we should focus on diplomacy that promotes peace, not war.”
The presence of RSF leaders in Kenya has sparked widespread debate, with many questioning the government’s stance on the Sudan conflict. Kalonzo warned that by entertaining the rebel group, Kenya risks being seen as taking sides in Sudan’s internal war, potentially damaging relations with the Sudanese government.

Attack on Ruto’s Domestic Policies
Beyond foreign policy, Kalonzo did not hold back in his criticism of Ruto’s administration, branding it a government that “exploits and humiliates Kenyans.”

“It is your right to get your birthright, National ID, free of charge! That ID should not have an expiration date!” Kalonzo declared to an energized crowd. He accused the government of creating unnecessary bureaucracies that make life difficult for ordinary Kenyans.

Kalonzo also took issue with the government’s healthcare reforms, particularly the rollout of the Social Health Authority (SHA) and the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF), dismissing them as a “total mess.”
“Instead of improving healthcare, they are introducing confusing programs that burden Kenyans even more,” he said. “It is your right to have good and accessible healthcare, not this SHA/SHIF confusion!”

The Wiper Party leader further criticized the high taxation rate, alleging that a significant portion of workers’ salaries is being misused by government officials.
“It is your right to get quality and timely services for your taxes, not the current case where 50% of your salary goes to Kasongo’s pockets!” he said, using the nickname ‘Kasongo’ in an apparent reference to President Ruto.
A New Political Alliance in the Making?
Kalonzo’s remarks also hinted at a possible realignment ahead of 2027, revealing that he is in discussions with key political figures to form a united front against Ruto’s administration.

“Watu wa Kirinyaga, mko tayari kukomboa nchi?” he asked, rallying the crowd.
He then named several leaders—including Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, former President Uhuru Kenyatta, former Defense CS Eugene Wamalwa, and lawyer Ndegwa Njiru—as individuals he could work with to “liberate Kenya” from what he called a “failed regime.”
This latest attack by Kalonzo signals growing opposition to Ruto’s leadership, both within and outside the ruling coalition. With tensions mounting over economic hardships, taxation policies, and foreign diplomacy, the stage appears to be set for a major political showdown in the coming months.
