A heartwarming Easter celebration unfolded in Kitui on Saturday as Woods Africa Lounge & Restaurant, in partnership with Kyalo Kya Maendeeo Foundation, hosted a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event for AIC Baby Home at the Woods Africa premises, bringing hope and joy to vulnerable children.

The initiative was spearheaded by Dr Augustus Muli, a Party Leader of the National Liberal Party (NLP) and Founder and CEO of Kyalo Kya Maendeeo Foundation, alongside his wife, Madam Betty Muli, the Director of Woods Africa.

The children were hosted at Woods Africa Lounge and Restaurant, where they enjoyed meals for the day, received financial support, and spent quality time in a warm and welcoming environment.

Many of the children, who have been abandoned or rescued from difficult circumstances, experienced not only material support but also emotional uplift, as they were shown care, love, and a sense of belonging.

Speaking exclusively via phone interview , Dr Muli emphasized that giving back to the community remains at the core of his leadership and philanthropic vision.
“As leaders and entrepreneurs, we have a responsibility to uplift the communities that support us. Initiatives like these are not just acts of charity, but a reflection of our commitment to humanity,” he said.

Through Kyalo Kya Maendeeo Foundation, Dr Muli has been at the forefront of transformative community programs, including the widely recognized Women’s Basket Weaving Project, which has already empowered over 1,000 women economically across Kitui County.

On her part, Madam Betty Muli highlighted her deep passion for child welfare, noting that Woods Africa’s CSR arm is intentionally focused on supporting neglected and vulnerable children in society.
“Every child deserves love, care, and an opportunity to thrive. Through Woods Africa, we want to ensure that these children feel valued and supported. This is a cause very close to my heart,” she said.

The partnership between the foundation and Woods Africa reflects a growing trend where businesses are integrating social impact into their operations—demonstrating that success is not just measured by profit, but by the positive difference made in people’s lives.
For Woods Africa, the CSR initiative is part of a broader philosophy of giving back to the community that sustains its business, reinforcing its brand as not only a hospitality hub but also a socially responsible enterprise.

The Easter event stands as a testament to the power of compassion, leadership, and community-driven impact—leaving a lasting impression on both the children and the broader Kitui community.
