    Why Kinengo MUST GO!

Kitui County Assembly Speaker Kevin Kinengo Katisya is on the edge of political collapse as mounting pressure from inside the Assembly and the Wiper Party builds over his alleged loyalty to UDA, poor House leadership, and ongoing power struggles that have shaken the County Assembly to its core.

The youthful Speaker, once seen as a rising political star, now finds himself isolated and accused of sabotaging internal party democracy, shielding loyalists, and frustrating the functioning of the Assembly through legal and procedural manipulations. Calls for his ouster are intensifying, with both elected MCAs and senior Wiper officials now demanding that “Kinengo must go.”

    Power Play Over Majority Leadership

The latest uproar centers around a dramatic communication issued by the Speaker on Wednesday, July 16, where Kinengo dismissed a July 7 letter by Hon. Daniel Ngoima Kimanzi, which notified the Speaker’s office of changes in the Wiper Majority Party leadership:

Hon. Munyoki Mwinzi – Majority Leader

Hon. Daniel Ngoima Kimanzi – Majority Whip

Hon. Cyrus Kisavi Musyoka – Deputy Whip

Kinengo ruled the notification procedurally defective, citing Standing Orders and a High Court stay blocking a PPDT-mandated Wiper election.

“In the absence of a formally recognized Whip, the notification was procedurally defective,” he declared.

But observers say this is just the latest in a string of interventions where the Speaker has blocked the will of the majority—for the third time in a row, the House under his leadership has failed to reach a decisive direction on Majority Party leadership. In September 2023, Kinengo similarly rejected the recognition of Mwinzi as Majority Leader and Daniel Ngoima as Whip — triggering yet another leadership crisis .

“This is pure BS. There’s no SO which says “only a duly recognized whip,” that’s a creation of the Speaker’s imagination.” an irritated Nzungu Mukungi took to social media in response to Wednesday speakers communication.

Accused of Weaponizing Judiciary to Protect His Position

Kinengo is also being accused of using judiciary tools to stymie internal Assembly decisions. During this year’s State of the County Address, MCAs erupted in protest when judiciary figures, including the Deputy Registrar of the Kitui Law Courts, were acknowledged from the Speaker’s gallery.

“The judiciary is being used to rubber-stamp injustice in the Assembly,” one MCA shouted. “The Speaker is hiding behind the courts to protect himself and his cronies.”

This incident has fueled widespread outrage over “external interference engineered from within.”

UDA Allegiances & Betrayal of Wiper

Kinengo’s repeated appearances at UDA-aligned events—including a high-profile meeting with President Ruto and CS Kindiki—have infuriated Wiper Party leaders, who accuse him of being a UDA stooge in a Wiper house .

“He no longer represents the aspirations of the party that gave him the Speaker’s chair,” a senior Wiper strategist told Channel 15 News.

Here’s a polished version of your sentence:

Wiper MCAs have accused Speaker Kevin Kinengo Katisya of colluding to stall key oversight motions, shielding errant members, and obstructing critical reforms within the County Assembly.

A Legacy of Chaos, Scuffles & Failed Leadership

This Speaker’s tenure is shadowed by crises—from a 2024 budget impasse, allegations of interference with the House leadership Committee, to physical scuffles in the chamber just last week over leadership conflict . A 2024 Kitui Finance Minster impeachment attempt, triggered by abuse of office allegations and delayed accountability, narrowly failed.

“This is not the first time Kinengo has escaped accountability,” an Assembly staffer said. “But this time, even his defenders are growing quiet.”

    Wiper Party Readies Final Strike

Speaking exclusively to Channel 15 Inside Politics, a senior Wiper official confirmed that the party is preparing to discipline Speaker Kevin Kinengo Katisya in the coming days. While the official did not disclose whether this would involve impeachment, they hinted at a structured disciplinary process and a possible motion of no confidence.

“Once party leadership communicates changes, the Speaker must reflect that on the floor. Failing to do so is not only insubordination—it’s sabotage,” Our source revealed

If Kinengo refuses, Wiper may back his removal through Assembly rules or a national-level party censure.

Across Kitui, residents, Wiper youth wings, and civic groups are uniting with one demand: new leadership in the Assembly.

“We voted for Wiper. Not for a political mercenary. Let him take his UDA sympathies elsewhere,” declared a protester outside the Assembly gates.

Wiper’s Moment to Prove Itself for 2027

As the country gears up for the 2027 vote, this crisis is a litmus test for Wiper’s national credibility. If the party cannot discipline, defend its mandate, and restore order in Kitui, how can Kenyans trust it to front a presidential candidate?

Speaker Kinengo’s fate is no longer just about local politics—it’s a reflection on Wiper’s readiness to lead Kenya.

With every hour, Assembly dissension grows, and Wiper’s resolve is tested. Will Kinengo hold on? Or will Wiper’s next move send a clear national message that internal democracy and accountability come first?

The gavel is shaking, the lines are drawn—and Kitui may hold the key to Wiper’s 2027 ambitions.
