Police in Karageni, Tseikuru Sub-County in Mwingi North Constituency, are investigating the death of a 42-year-old man who died at the home of a traditional healer after reportedly seeking treatment for a mysterious medical condition.
According to a police report, the man died on Saturday while at the healer’s homestead awaiting treatment after allegedly developing a severe swelling of his genitals.
Investigators say the deceased had allegedly been involved in an affair with the wife of his neighbour, claims that have sparked widespread discussion among residents in the area.
Information recorded by detectives indicates that the man had reportedly been given one week to confess to the alleged affair and seek forgiveness. However, he is said to have ignored the warning and instead sought the services of a traditional healer after his condition worsened.

Residents told police that the swelling became increasingly severe, prompting the 42-year-old to seek traditional treatment in the hope of finding relief.
However, tragedy struck before he could receive assistance, with reports indicating that he died while waiting for treatment at the healer’s home on Saturday morning.
The unusual incident has attracted significant attention in Katageni and neighbouring villages, with residents offering varying accounts of what may have led to the man’s condition and eventual death.
Police have launched investigations to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the death and determine the medical cause through a post-mortem examination.
The body was moved to a mortuary pending further investigations.
Authorities have urged members of the public to refrain from speculation and allow investigators to complete their inquiries before conclusions are drawn.
